Purchased this jacket in April so I can’t give any real review yet, but my initial Impression is it’s a very warm and well made piece of gear. There’s warmth without the bulk and plenty of room to layer underneath. Can’t wait to use it this fall. Shawn on May 3rd 2019
Comfortable and durable. Keeps me warm and dry. Howard Holeman on Oct 2nd 2018
Great coat, well made and ultra warm. The hood is a real plus. Will wear it deer hunting in Pennsylvania, where it is known to get very cold.

Wore this jacket archery hunting the first weekend after I received it. It was raining hard and was around 38 degrees out. I stayed dry and warm the whole time. I heard about Rivers West products from a friend and decided to pick up the Ambush Jacket for cold weather hunting. I am very pleased with it. Really like all the features of the jacket. Lots of pockets and the magnetic pocket flap closure is a huge plus when archery hunting. I will be recommending this jacket and the other Rivers West products to all my friends and outdoor enthusiasts from now on. Bill W on Dec 29th 2017
Living in the southeast the winters are typically wet and cool with high humidity. The Ambush jacket has kept me warm on those drizzly cold hunts. The collar and hood work great to keep the warmth in. The Ambush jacket is warmer than any other coat I have tried over the past 40 years. I am extremely pleased with the jacket. As an East Coast user of Rivers West , I've been reading about the Ambush and bought both Jacket and Bibs. As expected superior quality and features . Very true to size with plenty of room to layer underneath. Bought mine in Spring at clearance price. When Summer is over will be looking forward to using in Fall and Winter hunting in Southern tier of NY. Over all exceptional quality with many features which have been talked about. **As stated I'm on the east coast wish they had distributer here. But purchased through Cascade Direct who has EXCEPTIONAL customer service. Was concerned about fit and was told no problem with either exchange or return even on clearance items. Not hurrying to get buy summer but now know I'm ready for next season! Mark D on Apr 22nd 2017
Awesome jacket. I hunt many days in the fall and winter months and this is my go-to jacket. Has all the features needed for cold and wet goose and duck hunting. I purchased the bib overalls prior to purchasing the jacket and after using the bibs, couldn't help but buy the jacket. I have since purchased the bibs and jacket for both my boys, my brother and nephew. I told them all that they can layer onto this, but no need for anything else. Don MacWilliam on Jan 3rd 2017
Over all made very well but iineing makes noise and when you move . Inside pockets also makes noise if you move your hands the whitetail here will bust you Touchstone on Dec 29th 2016
I love this jacket. Warm and dry. Lots of pockets, including fleece inside plus a mesh pocket for the chemical hand warmer packs. I wish there was a place in the back for my tree harness strap. Now I just leave hood half unzipped. Dave on Dec 20th 2016
Really like the jacket so far. Got here after hunting season. Wear it feeding cattle and horses. Very warm for weight. Anxious to see how it holds up in hunting conditions.
IMPROVEMENTS; zipper is way better than original but still could be improved ( check and see what kind of zippers Duluth Trading uses -- they are the best ). Also berber fleece should NEVER run up next to zipper -- it will eventually catch in zipper and create a bad situation. I took some electric clippers and sheared mine back before I ever wore it.
A jacket is only as good as its zipper. Keep berber fleece at least 1/2 inch from zipper. Rob Harle, DVM on Jan 23rd 2016
